The first frontier post of Grodno teams of border guards is named after Victor Usov, the hero of the Soviet Union. 

At dawn on 22 June 1941, the frontier guards of western borders bore the first brunt of the German fascist forces. The warriors of the 86th Augustow border detachment, guarding a border section of 140 kilometers, heroically fought the German invaders near Grodno. Two thousands of frontier guards fought up to the last ditch, not leaving the borders without orders
